alt_hermione: Hermione outside and unhappy (Sad)
Are you going to bring her down with you so you can get some lunch? We can go back to St G's today and pick up more formula, if you like. Also make sure Lana's ready to be discharged and moved - well. somewhere. Saltash, I suppose, for the time being.

Before they left, Sirius came and talked to me. He was saying goodbye, I know that now, but he particularly wanted to make sure you were looked after.

Which we would have done, anyway, but--well, the thing is, I went to his and Remus's rooms this morning. He left a note for Ms Laura Finch-Fletchley. There was an instruction to give it to her when she gets here, because I guess he wrote to tell her about Justin.

There are some other things. I thought I'd sort properly after lunch.

It's the kind of thing I put off after Mr Snape died, and I wish I hadn't done. It was more helpful than I realised it would be.

Our first group of Sleeper potion is ready for the field. Mr Davidson, we'll want plenty of people handy to help them assimilate and adjust when they wake up. Have your team made any headway in figuring out who they all are at the first site?

Mrs Longbottom, we've also prepared some restoratives and nutritional preparations to give them as they regain consciousness. Even with the stable stasis, they'll need to kickstart their metabolisms. If we can arrange for family members to be there, that would probably be helpful, too, but I don't want to wait to identify them before we start waking them up. It's going to be a long process.

What I'd like is for our Potioneer assistants, along with the Healers assigned to the project, and any Muggles who are going to help, to assemble in the first designated site. It was outside of Stirling, wasn't it? If everything goes according to plan, we can branch out, but we'll still want Healers in case of complications. And probably some soldiers in case something really goes wrong.

We've built up a considerable amount of potion stores and I estimate that if we maintain production at this rate, we'll be able to wake a further 200 sleepers every week while still putting up an additional 100 doses to increase stock. That way when the supply lines are straightened out and we're ready to really to revive the rest, we'll have enough.

Will Friday be enough time to put together the team? We'll need the the Stirling Secret Keeper to write down the secret so everyone can get there.
alt_hermione: (Unhappy)
Mr Lupin, I saw what you wrote to Mrs Longbottom.

This is one of those times where we're supposed to be happy for people but it's not really all that simple, is it?

I mean, if it makes Terry happy then that's a good thing, I guess. And if it makes the Longbottoms happy then there's no harm in it, surely.

So why do I feel...not happy? I don't know what else to call it. I'm not cross; I'm not upset by it (though...is Sirius a little upset? He seemed a bit, I dunno, false when we were talking about it over breakfast--like he's trying to convince himself that he's happy for them?); anyway, I'm not upset; I'm not jealous or anything like that. (But I wonder if any of the other Moddey children are? I wouldn't be surprised, and I wouldn't blame them if they were.)

I suppose I'm a little puzzled, and a bit...I don't know. I think it's clear that Terry's trying to find a sense of belonging. I mean, that's why he left Moddey for Sherwood, and that's why he's joined the Zulu companies. That's probably why he's doing this, too. And I'm glad that the Longbottoms are so willing to call him one of their own, but I have a feeling that this isn't going to fulfill him any better than anything else.

And I guess that makes me feel really sorry for him. And hate that Carrow did that to him, but that doesn't help, Carrow's dead and the damage was done long before he died, anyway. I guess I just wish Terry didn't need so badly. It makes me wonder if he'll ever really, really be happy, because he keeps looking for his happiness outside of himself.

Before you and Luna go into the Forest, come and find me (I'll be in the secret room, most likely).

I think you should take the portkey that Mr Lupin gave me, in case you run into any trouble. If you have to, you can take it to get to their shop and then Floo back to Mr Snape's office.

If you don't use it, you can give it back.
alt_hermione: Hermione knows something you don't (Swot)
Pansy, if you're ready, we could use you.

Madam Pomfrey, Mr Snape looked at Caradoc. It wasn't the spell he thought it was, causing the bleeding, I mean, but he tried his counterspell anyway and it looks like it worked. At any rate, the bleeding has stopped and the wounds are closing on their own. So that's good. But Caradoc still looks awfully pale.

Oh, and Sirius is awake.

He's quite, er, upset that he's at Moddey. And he's got a tremor in his right arm, so he can't really hold a quill. Or a wand. Mr Lupin's helping him to eat something.

Mr Snape also saw the spasms and he said that he thinks he knows what the curse was and it gave him an idea for another potion to help.

(Oh, he told me not to tell anyone that. So don't tell him I said anything. But I didn't want you to worry or go to the trouble of making a potion if he's already going to make one.)

Mr Longbottom's still unconscious.
alt_hermione: Hermione does not approve (Disappointed)
Hello, Sirius, I hope you had a good birthday yesterday.

Harry was happy to see you on Saturday, but it made him a little sad, too, because he wishes it could be more normal, by which he means that it weren't such a huge risk for you and that you had more time and could just talk about ordinary things instead of only having time for the important things.

And I got to thinking that sometimes when he's home at the holidays, it's a little easier for him to slip out for a few hours. I don't think he could come to Grimmauld Place even though I'm sure he'd love to see it, and it's probably too dangerous for him to know that you and Mr Lupin are actually part of Laszlo's (but I think he could come along to tea time if Hydra had another session there with Mrs L Tonks), but what if we arranged for you and him to find a way to see each other over the holidays? I bet I could keep people away for a while if they think he's in Buckingham and doesn't want to see anyone. He's supposed to spend time with the Malfoys too, but that's harder to sneak away because it's more like being a family and people include him more. But sometimes he and Draco go flying and we could maybe arrange something then, as long as Professor Lestrange doesn't go with them or anything.

Anyway, is there somewhere nearby Laszlo's where you could meet him but not be seen? Or even anywhere else, if he can Floo there and so can you then you could just meet.

What do you think?

Hermione

P.S., I'm glad you liked the Galleon. We worked hard on it. Do you think Mr Snape's right and we could use something like it for everyone in the camps? I think we'd have to make sure that the messages from those coins don't show up on our coins here at school. The way we did these was that they're all connected through a modified Protean charm; I think if you did another batch the same way, but never connected one to the original coins (ours, I mean), you'd be all right. And then there's the question of how to keep them getting stolen or something if someone's in the camps. A Galleon is a lot of money to some people. But I think the twins could help with some anti-theft charms. Although that might be a problem because what if it started screaming in the middle of the night, a mudblood can't have an enchanted item at all and then they'd find it and maybe it isn't going to work, hm. Or do you think it should be something that doesn't look like money in the first place? That's probably better. A button or badge would do it and no one would think it too odd, maybe.

P.P.S., I think maybe if you had some time when I could slip away and see you, that might be good. If you and Mr Lupin have time, I mean, I think maybe I'd like to talk a little about--my mother. But maybe not just yet. I'm not sure. Sometimes I think it's better when I don't think about it.

P.P.P.S. Justin was glad, too, and he said that he hopes now you've met Hydra you'll stop worrying so much that she's just like Bellatrix.

Ugh, sometimes I hate having to put Harry on every message.

Not that I hate Harry, of course, although sometimes he can really be thick, but overall I think he's all right, or at least he tries to be.

But anyway, that's not why I wanted to write to you. I probably ought to be writing to Sirius, but I think you're a better one to ask, because of course, they're talking about what he said to Madam Umbridge last night and talking about Ireland. And it's really difficult sometimes to know that they're wrong about things but not just tell them so. Like, for example, one person wondered if Sirius knew about the drowned Muggles because he was in Ireland himself. And someone asked if Professor Dolohov had anything to do with it all and someone else said that if Sirius had known, he'd have said so.

I suppose I could try to tell them things that we know because Mr Shacklebolt and Mr Longbottom were there. That just always leads to more questions, doesn't it?

Anyway, I don't know if there's anything I can do to help them see or if this is one of those times when I just shouldn't say anything at all. It's so hard, though, sometimes.

But you and Sirius love each other so you must know what he'd want me to do, right? I mean, what I ought to tell them? Only sometimes, you know, he's not very clever when it comes to saying the right thing. But I noticed he didn't mention Mr Malfoy and I wondered if he meant it that way? If he meant to keep Pan people from knowing that part?

I don't want to give away the Order's secrets but--well, I think it could help the others to understand if I could tell them more. I don't know.

But nobody thinks he's an impostor, at least.

Oh, can you tell Sirius that I'm making Harry go on a date? He might have a terrible time but at least one of us should get to go out with someone, you know?
