Order Only: Terry, Fred, George and Lee
(Not that anyone else in the Order can't read this but I can't send a PM to all four of you, so if anyone else in the Order is reading, well, you can but it's not really for you.)
Mrs Longbottom asked me to tell the others that the Order would like to offer them membership but she wanted us to think through first the best way to tell them and also plan for the things that they might say about it.
So, I thought maybe first we could think what each one's reaction might be and what we might have to explain depending on what they say, and that would help us decide the best approach for them.
Draco: He'll probably be the person with the biggest objections (not surprisingly). What he's said before about the Order (not that he knew what they were called but he knew there was a group) is that they aren't very effective and that they don't have a plan for how to actually make anything change. I think mostly he's afraid. And he's torn, too, because he still loves his family and so many of them would be on the other side if he joined us properly.
Evelyn: Will want to join up right away
Harry: Will probably want to join up as soon as possible, too. I think he might hesitate, though, if Draco's strongly against it, only because he already had to leave Draco behind for a little while when he joined the ISS and usually he wants Draco along for anything and everything, whenever possible. So I don't know, I think he'd have to know that Draco doens't mind if Harry joins without Draco. If Draco decides against joining.
Hydra: I'm not sure. On the one hand, she's got some of the same reasons Draco has to worry about fighting against her family. On the other, she hates her mother and the Lord Protector. I think if Justin joins, so will she. One thing's almost certain and that's that they'll talk it over first and decide together.
Justin: I'm sure he wants to join, it's one of the most important reasons he stayed here and didn't go back to France (and of course, Hydra was the other). He really wants to be useful (especially to Sirius) and we all know he hoped to make a difference. But he'll be careful to ask Hydra what she thinks first, as I said.
Luna: I'm pretty sure she'll join without too much fuss
Neville: Wants to join last year
Pansy: She's the other wild card, isn't she? I think in the end she'll join but she might be afraid of it first. She'll have some questions, too, mainly about what will happen to people like the Malfoys or Professor Lestrange.
Ron: If this were Christmas, I'd say he'd join in a heartbeat. But he gets his ego bruised so easily I don't know if he'd delay just out of spite or anything. Probably not, though he might ask a question or two first. He's been writing to Director Selwyn's daughter, you know, and he's got back together with Greengrass, I think, sort of, and that might twist him round a little.
Sally-Anne: I was sure she didn't have any interest but then Mrs L said that she did want to join. Maybe because she got to see her mother. As if that should make Anyway, she really cares about Madam Pomfrey and doing the right thing but she can be stubborn and she's so Slytherin in the way she sees things. Plus she's really fond of Professor Dolohov (and practically anyone else who pays her any attention or tells her she's done a good job).
Susan: Will probably join.
I'm not sure what to tell Draco or others who accuse the Order of not being able to get itself together to make a real or lasting impact. Except that of the other alternatives, the Order's the most successful and the one with the best philosophy toward everyone--I mean, Muggleborns, Muggles and Squibs and all. So even if someone's not altogether convinced about joining the Order, maybe they can at least admit that it's the best option out of what's available?

I'm sorry Fred and George and me haven't responded to this before now, but as you may know NEWTs BEGIN NEXT WEEK and we haven't been cracking our journals open all that often, as we're buried in our textbooks and notes instead. Forgive me if I'm a bit fuzzy-brained.
Scanning your list and notes quickly: I'd say your analysis matches ours closely. You know the Slytherins better than we do, of course. I do wish we'd had a chance to get to know Malfoy a bit before we went off the Lock ourselves; it'd make it easier to gauge the best approach toward him, as he might be the one to cause the most difficulty. I wonder...
I personally think the Protectorate can't possibly last long term. I just don't think it can be viable, with all the power resting in the hands of so few (even if they do have the power of magic). Plus, I think that all the misery and stinking lies that this society is built on is just gonna make the majority erupt one of these days. Do you think there is any chance that Malfoy sees things that way, too? If he does, then he might consider the possibility that if he joins the Order he could be in a position to help his family, if and when the cauldron finally explodes.
Perks wants to be a Healer. We can point out she'd have a much better chance of achieving that ambition with the Order than if she just holds her breath and hopes that the Protectorate might condescend to give a half-blood the training she needs. More likely she'll end up scrubbing floors and emptying bedpans like Umbridge always wanted her to do.
Ron--yeah. Dunno whether it'll be difficult for him to join knowing Ginny's been left outside in the cold. (Not Percy so much, the git.) We'd also better be able to swear up and down that Bill has learned his lesson. (Sorry if you're reading this, Bill, but you know it's true.)

On the other hand, if Sally-Anne refuses, I'm not sure whether you'll be able to get Pansy to agree to join at all.
As for Hydra, well, I don't know her very well. But I think she wants to belong you know? To be accepted, to be wanted. From little things she's let drop, I get the feeling that her Mum is really cold toward her, acts like she hates her sometimes, even. It'll help if we can explain why the Order wants her, would value her contributions. They're not just tolerating having her join because, oh, very well, all your friends are, including your boyfriend that Sirius Black tutored. Or even worse, so we can get dirt on your family. She'll want to know she's wanted for herself.
